I am am an Associate Professor at Mackenzie University’s Center for Economic Freedom and a Research Associate at OBSERVARE (Free University of Lisbon).

I also worked at North-West University (South Africa), Plymouth University (UK) and the University of Exeter, where I did my PhD.

My research focuses on the role of institutions in the international order of the 2nd millennium BC Near East. As part of the research, I am translating letters, diplomatic treaties and other primary sources from Akkadian into Portuguese.

In 2018 I won Acton Institute’s Novak Award in recognition of my work on the connections between religion, politics and economics.

My broader research focus is theoretical. My PhD thesis focused on metatheory in International Relations and historical aspects of political theory.

Já atuei nas universidades North-West (África do Sul), Plymouth (Reino Unido) na Universidade de Exeter, onde fiz meu doutorado em Política.

Meu foco atual de pesquisa é o papel das instituições na ordem internacional no Próximo Oriente do segundo milênio a.C. Parte da minha pesquisa envolve a tradução para o português de cartas, tratados e outras fontes primárias em língua acádica. Minha ênfase geral de pesquisa é teórica. Minha tese de doutorado investigou o papel da metateoria em Relações Internacionais e alguns temas históricos em teoria política.
